Meech launches new ionising bar

Superior surface preparation and electronics protection
Meech International is introducing the Hyperion 945IPS Ionising Bar - a static control solution that delivers real-world benefits for today’s manufacturers across a broad range of applications.

Designed for mid-range applications between 150-600mm, this robust solution not only improves safety and enhances product quality but also boosts productivity and can drive significant cost savings.
In practical terms, static electricity can cause more than just inconvenience - it attracts dust and contaminants, and in extreme cases, may trigger electrostatic discharge (ESD) or fires. The Hyperion 945IPS is engineered to actively neutralise static build-up across large production areas, helping to mitigate these hazards. This translates into safer working environments and a notable reduction in scrap rates – factors that are critical for regulatory compliance and maintaining a strong reputation in competitive markets.
The Hyperion 945IPS adaptable design means it is equally at home on high-speed production lines as it is in specialised operations. In blister packing, for example, product misbehaviour and permanent inclusions are induced by contamination attracted during the thermoforming and unwinding of a roll of plastic film. The 945IPS bar neutralises the material at the unwind, after thermoforming and at the unwind of the seal film – preventing the attraction of airborne contamination. End users in industries as varied as horizontal bagging, shrink sleeve and hot melt labelling – as well as those involved in bottle overwrapping, injection moulding and fibre optic coating can also benefit from the system.
A key element of the new system is its use of pure titanium emitter pins, selected for their exceptional corrosion resistance and durability. These components, combined with an optimised mounting system featuring a wider M4 T-slot and innovative T-slide design, ensure a secure and stable installation. Hyperion 945IPS meets the requirements of fast-paced, demanding applications with compact dimensions of just 30mm x 67mm that make it easy to install on printing and converting machinery, and the maximum 15kV pulsed DC output that gives it class-leading performance and reliability. This results in less time spent on maintenance and more uninterrupted operations, directly contributing to cost savings and enhanced productivity.
“We recognise the everyday challenges faced by modern manufacturers,” said David Roger, technical director at Meech. “The Hyperion 945IPS Ionising Bar has been designed with practical, real-world applications in mind. Its ability to mitigate risks – from shocks to fire hazards – while improving product quality and streamlining production processes makes it an impressive solution for industries across the board. Our solution not only delivers a rapid ROI but also reinforces our customers’ reputation and customer retention through consistent, reliable performance.”
