Innovations in Optics, Inc. (IOI) is proud to announce that our LumiSun-50™ LED Solar Simulator was honored as a finalist in the Test and Measurement category at the 2025 SPIE Prism Awards, held during Photonics West in San Francisco (see spie.org).
The best new photonics products in the industry were named finalists in eight categories and celebrated with a gala evening at the conference. The annual event, which celebrated its 17th year, recognizes commercialized innovation in photonics, honoring companies bringing transformative products to market.
The LumiSun-50™ is a compact, Class A+A+A+ LED solar simulator designed for research applications such as photovoltaic cell testing, photochemistry, and materials analysis.
Key features include:
Irradiance Range: Adjustable from 0.1 to 1.2 Suns
LED Longevity: Over 20,000 hours of operational life
Spectral Range: Covers 350 to 1250 nm
Highest Uniformity: Over entire 50 x 50 mm area
Low Spectral Deviation: < 9% (400 - 1100 nm)
Compliance: Meets IEC Class A+A+A+ standards
As a featured exhibitor, IOI introduced two upcoming products:
LumiProbe: An IV hardware tester available in Q1 2025
LumiScope: An endoscope illuminator set for release in Q2 2025
Tom Brukilacchio, Founder & CEO of IOI, said "We are thrilled to report that this year's Photonics West Exhibition was our most successful in recent memory. Our booth attracted significant interest due to the extensive range of innovative products we showcased, each delivering world-class performance across diverse markets.
Notably, many visitors were captivated by our advanced multi-wavelength technology, which has proven instrumental in semiconductor inspection and solar simulation. We are excited to announce that this technology will soon be applied to forthcoming products in medical diagnostics and hyperspectral imaging applications.
At IOI, we eagerly anticipate engaging with the numerous new inquiries we've received and exploring the diverse applications of our groundbreaking technology across the various markets we serve."
We were delighted to unveil our new exhibit booth and engage with clients and partners across various sectors, including multi-spectral imaging, machine vision, medical, and solar industries. Our team explored collaborative opportunities, met with our active Distributors, investigated new channel partners to expand our reach worldwide, and discussed innovative LED illumination solutions spanning from UVC to NIR wavelengths.
The IOI team at Photonics West, including University of Rochester Optics graduates, connected with past and present SPIE presidents, and fellow alumni and friends in photonics, strengthening our ties within the optics community.
