Dr Nicolas Wiedmann takes over as new Siegwerk CEO

After a three-month transition period with his predecessor Herbert Forker, Dr Nicolas Wiedmann took over full responsibility as Siegwerk's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 1 April 2021. Wiedmann already started at Siegwerk on 1 January 2021 and has since been intensively involved with the company.

The new CEO will continue to drive Siegwerk's recent strategic direction to become a circular and digital packaging solutions company, while also further accelerating the company's growth with new business models beyond traditional printing inks. Wiedmann is determined to strengthen Siegwerk's customer-centric approach through flexible and innovative processes as well as new digital services, and aims to further expand its global, well-positioned network. In addition, Wiedmann's focus is on the Circular Economy and how to help Siegwerk customers meet this challenge.
"From the first moment I met Siegwerk, I was impressed by how motivated, innovative and future-oriented the company and its employees are," says Wiedmann. "Siegwerk's track record in recent years has been remarkable, always remaining true to itself. I want to continue on this growth path and discover new opportunities - for Siegwerk and for its customers."
One of the key strategies for Siegwerk is the company's ambitious plans for a sustainable future. "The Circular Economy is a major transformative force affecting every industry," Wiedmann explained, "Siegwerk is well positioned to provide value-added solutions to its customers, avoid waste and stop consuming the world's valuable resources."
In working with customers and partners, Wiedmann will build on the long-standing relationships and trusting cooperation that have always characterised the family-owned company. This close cooperation is the key to the company's future: "Inks, coatings and substrates are the closely interlinked components of packaging," says Wiedmann. "Only together with our customers, suppliers, employees and other industry partners will we succeed in mastering the challenges on the way to a circular packaging industry. Siegwerk can make a significant contribution to this with innovative new applications. I am very much looking forward to these important and exciting challenges."
With the acquisition of Wiedmann, Siegwerk is entering a new management era, while the company's values remain the same: Quality, Responsibility, Openness, Foresight and Commitment.
