More efficient production than with filaments
More efficient production than with filaments
Thanks to an array of world-firsts, this year’s Formnext is once again set to become the center of global innovation in additive manufacturing and modern production technologies on 19 – 22 November 2019.
Under the motto "iAM ready - ready for industrial production", TÜV SÜD will be presenting its range of additive manufacturing services at formnext from 19 to 22 November (Hall 11.1, Stand E60). In addition to newly developed standards and tests, the experts will present a concept for the digital certification of components. TÜV SÜD is also providing a 3D printing service network consisting of certified contract manufacturers. This stands for the highest quality on the market and gives all product manufacturers and distributors access to fast and reliable additive manufacturing.
BigRep is expanding its materials portfolio, launching 4 new materials at FABTECH 2019.
New brand for additive manufacturing
Background
Ranking among America’s top aviation schools since 1925, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offers a variety of programs in aviation, applied science, engineering, computers and business. Its Mechanical Engineering Department is currently involved in groundbreaking research on battery cooling systems. Here, researchers are using the 3devo Composer Filament Maker to mix plastics and phase-change materials (PCM) into high-quality filament that can potentially 3D print lightweight, self-contained heat sinks.
Our annual production with AM has increased from a few articles to 20,000 pieces (per article and order) within a very short time. Thus a serial production has become reality in shortest time. It becomes exciting when a design optimized for AM helps to save work steps and thus costs.
As global technology leader in electrical heating and high-temperature applications, Kanthal launches an additive manufacturing service that disrupts traditional design of heating elements and components. Together with the new iron-chromium-aluminum (FeCrAl) alloy, Kanthal® AM100, specially developed for 3D-printing, the new service called Kanthal® Additive Manufacturing offers a revolutionary solution for the heating industry.
