Cooperation for market development in additive manufacturing

TÜV SÜD and the American standardization organization ASTM International today signed a cooperation agreement at the formnext 2019 trade fair. The contents include a reciprocal transfer of know-how and measures to make it easier for companies to access the US and European markets. The USA is the partner country of the trade fair for additive manufacturing.


EOS demonstrates solutions for flexible, automated metal 3D printing

At the formnext 2019, EOS is showcasing EOS Shared Modules as a production-ready solution. Consisting of various hardware and software modules, the solution simplifies and parallelizes the workflow both upstream and downstream of the build process. Especially when operating multiple 3D printing systems, EOS Shared Modules makes it possible to manufacture high-quality metal parts on an efficient, scalable, profitable basis. EOS Shared Modules is scheduled to be available by the second half of 2020.

Kodak’s imaging science expertise a perfect fit for 3D applications and more with new partner Evolve Additive Solutions

Eastman Kodak and Evolve Additive Solutions, Inc. announced a technology partnership where Kodak will supply Evolve imaging systems, parts and consumables based on the KODAK NEXPRESS digital electrophotographic platform. In addition, the companies have signed Joint Development Agreements for equipment and materials with the goal of helping further develop Evolve’s Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process (STEP) technology in anticipation of the commercial release in 2020. STEP is Evolve’s proprietary 3D printing technology for additive manufacturing. Kodak has also licensed relevant intellectual property to Evolve in support of the development effort.

Evonik and Evolve Additive Solutions will jointly develop 3D printing materials for STEP process

Evonik Corporation and Evolve Additive Solutions, Inc. have announced a joint development agreement where the companies will work together to formulate Evonik’s thermoplastic materials to be used in Evolve's selective thermoplastic electrophotographic process(STEP) additive manufacturing solutions. The initial development efforts will focus on polyamide 12, PEBA, transparent polyamide, and polymer of the polyamide 6 series. In the future, the combined efforts will result in a wider range of materials for STEP users with more 3D printing material choices for production that are commonly used in traditionally manufactured products.

BEAMIT Purchases SLM500, Third SLM Machine of 2019

BEAMIT has acquired another SLM®500 quad-laser system, their third SLM® machine of the year, bringing their total to eight selective laser melting units. The company is one of the largest additive manufacturing suppliers in Europe with over 20 years of experience with the technology and will now use this expertise to develop high speed parameters for special aluminum alloys.
